Lochawe is on the main A85 road with a public bus service. There is a railway station in the village which is a request stop on the Glasgow to Oban line. Lochawe is ideally situated for most activities. It is ideal for climbing, hill walking and country walks including a road that goes up to the Cruachan Dam, and thereafter to Ben Cruachan. Cruachan Power Station, The Hollow Mountain, has its visitor centre 2 miles along the road. Within walking distance there is a local pub which also provides food, a hotel which is open to the public, village shop with sub post office and travelling shops also call. Lochawe holds the record for the largest trout in Britain and is a popular venue for anglers with several other well known Lochs and Sea Lochs within easy distance. The local Dalmally Golf Course is less than 2 miles away. There are three other golf courses within 21 miles. Creagan lies approximately 18 miles from Inveraray and 21 miles from the ferry terminal town of Oban, the Gateway to the Islands, so is an ideal base for any activity.
